If your child — like mine — has asked to make bingsu slime, it sounds like you'd need a special kit and a degree in slime science. You don't. Start with a simple clear slime base, then add iridescent bingsu beads for that satisfying crunch.

What is bingsu slime?
Bingsu slime is clear or translucent slime mixed with lightweight, shimmery beads. The beads give it the ASMR crunchy texture and little pops that make it especially fun to stretch slowly.
It's one of those activities that has a pretty big payoff for very little setup, and since it's all over TikTok right now, you'll get bonus 'cool mom' points for even knowing what bingsu slime is.

Crunchy Bingsu Slime Recipe
You need:
- 1 5-ounce bottle clear washable school glue
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon contact lens solution
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup bingsu beads
- Optional: a few drops blue food coloring or glitter
Before you start: Check the label on your contact lens solution. It needs to list boric acid and sodium borate in the ingredients. Plain saline solution won't activate the slime.
Directions
- Pour the glue into a bowl. Add a drop or two of blue food coloring or glitter, if you’d like.
- Stir in the baking soda until smooth.
- Add the contact lens solution and stir hard. It should start pulling away from the bowl.
- Pick it up and knead it for 2 to 3 minutes. It’ll be sticky at first.
- If it’s still sticking badly after kneading, add another 1/2 teaspoon contact lens solution. Knead again. Repeat only if needed.
- When it’s stretchy and no longer sticky, knead in the bingsu beads a little at a time.
If it gets too stiff: Knead in a few drops of warm water.

Want plain clear slime instead?
Stop after Step 5. That's it. You'll have shiny, stretchy clear slime that's great for bubbles, glitter, or simply stretching between your hands.
It might look a little bubbly right after mixing. Pop it into an airtight container overnight and those tiny bubbles should settle, giving it a clearer finish.
How to store slime
Store finished slime in an airtight container when playtime is over. Wash hands after playing, keep it off carpet and fabrics, and toss it if it gets dirty or starts to smell off.

Why is my bingsu slime sticky?
First, knead it a little longer. Slime often needs a few minutes in your hands before it comes together. If it's still very sticky, add contact lens solution, just 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
Why did my slime get stiff or start tearing?
It likely has too much activator. Warm it in your hands and knead it well. A tiny dab of unscented lotion can help soften it, though it may make clear slime look less clear.
Why are the bingsu beads falling out?
